Herman Cain

Herman Cain is a businessman talking about running for President.  He has some remarkable achievements and I hope he knows what he is getting into.

So…an open letter to Herman Cain:

Mr. Cain,

I hope that you and your family are ready for the onslaught should you become the nominee.

You are the Left’s worst nightmare: An American with a strong character and notable accomplishments that just coincidentally happens to have an African ancestry.    A man who can be judged on the Content of His Character (and accomplishments) and not only the Color of His Skin.

They will attack you even more brutally than they have attacked George Bush, Robert Bork, Clarence Thomas, and Sarah Palin.  They will call you an “Uncle Tom” (Clarence Thomas) or like Condoleezza Rice an “Aunt Jemima”.  They will call for your castration (Jesse Jackson’s call for Obama before they became “friends”).  They will call for your wife to be gang raped as Sandra Bernhard called for Sarah Palin. They will publically wish for your death as Nina Totenberg called for Jessie Helms to get AIDS or as Julianne Malveaux’s wish for Justice Clarence Thomas, “…wife feeds him lots of eggs and butter..dies early like many black men do, of heart disease.”  They will target you for your race as Sen’s, Kennedy and Rockefeller targeted Alberto Gonzales.  They will do anything to destroy you just as Obama did to Jack Ryan in 2004.

I know that this will happen because they have done it before and they continue it today.

Forewarned is forearmed.  If you and your family choose to take this on, my wife and I will do anything we can to support you.

And may God bless you.

Jon Jewett

An article in the UK Guardian.  You have to make allowances as the Guardian is a rabidly left-wing paper with a Hate America agenda.  However, once you take that into account, this is an interesting column.  It makes the case very well that GW was telling the truth!

Ask yourself:  “Self, did you believe the liberal mantra of “Bush Lied and People Died”?  If so, “yourself” was snookered again!

Believing Impossible Things

Alice laughed. “There’s no use trying,” she said: “one can’t believe impossible things.”

“I daresay you haven’t had much practice,” said the Queen. “When I was your age, I always did it for half-an-hour a day. Why, sometimes I’ve believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast.”

(Through the Looking Glass, Chapter 5)

And then you ask yourself:
“Self, how many impossible things do you believe?”

Tks to http://www.barcepundit-english.blogspot.com/

And then you say to yourself:

“Self, you didn’t make this stuff up.  Who convinced you to believe these impossible things?”

The real question for yourself is:

“If certain individuals caused YOU to believe so many things that are “impossible” why in the world would you trust them about ANYTHING? Wouldn’t trusting them again be really, really stupid?”

The Elite and Us

The self-annointed elite inside the Beltway and the so-called “Main Stream” media are oh-so smart and oh-so clever.  They are oh-so sophisticated and while they attend their oh-so special parties and nibble their brie and sip their chardonnay, they demean us as stupid f_____g red necks.  Red necks, that’s people like you and me and Sharron Angle.  It is anyone that actually produces something of value (I.e. “works”) and believes in God (as distinct from going to church).

Perhaps the most important concept that they really don’t understand is how their contempt is returned in spades.  They are so special and gifted and entitled, how could anyone despise them?   It is beyond them, so if the predicted political tsunami strikes they will be totally bewildered.

They proven themselves to be fools by what they have done to the economy and in a thousand other ways.  And they think that they are some kind of elite!

Here is an interesting commentary on their inability to be in touch with the greater reality.  (Inside the beltway is a giant echo chamber wherein all you hear is the babbling of fools endlessly repeated to one other.)

The Angle-Reid campaign is just a microcosm of the larger change in American politics.  It is so high-profile only because of who Harry Reid is.   My hope is that once we retake out country, the great majority does not again fall asleep.

the price of freedom is eternal vigilance.”  —  Thomas Jefferson

Oh, Ye of Little Faith

Every once in a while, I read a story like this:

(Hmmm…it’s odd that we would find this in a British paper and not, say, the Austin American Statesman.  I wonder why?  But the Statesman did spend a lot of ink on my typos!)

In the context of these articles, there is an underlying theme that the nebulous “Republican Leadership” do not recruit black candidates because the mythical “Republican Base” will not vote for them.  These “Leaders” are the same ones that disparage the Tea Party and the Tea Party candidates.

(Black, i.e. short for Americans who, just coincidentally, have an African ancestry.  Just like the term “White” is short for Americans who, just coincidentally, have a European ancestry.  We are fellow Americans, brothers and sisters, with different ancestry.  Being American is the relevant part.  The differences in ancestry, while they may be interesting, are largely trivial to me.)

It may be true that the “leadership” believes it.  But why would they?   Personally, I think that the idea, that the base won’t vote for black Americans, is horse puckey!

When GW was Governor, he put more black candidates into statewide office than ANY Democrat, ever!  And we Republicans, (we-the base, the Tea Party) have voted to keep them there.  And GW appointed more black Americans to positions of real power than any prior president.   On the other hand, Democrats won’t vote for black Republicans and call them “Uncle Toms”.

I believe that the “Leadership” may be out of touch with the base.  It has happened because they read and listen to the “Main Stream Media”.  And the “Main Stream Media” overflows with articles about how the Republican base is made of bigots.  But nothing on our side of the aisle can compare to what the Democrats did to Clarence Thomas.  And it was a Democrat that called Dr. Rice an “Aunt Jemima”.   And it was an African-American Democrat acquaintance who described  Michael Williams as an “Uncle Tom” and did it with a seething rage.

I believe that we, the vast majority of the Republican Party base, DO judge people based on the content of their character and their accomplishments.  We have, in deed, proven it.

The “Republican Leadership” should have more faith in us.

It’s about time.

I remember the last time I read Newsweek.  It was years ago, during the time Bubba Clinton was “exposed” for what he had been doing to women.

Juanita Broderick had finally come forth with her story about how Bubba Clinton raped her.

In case you have forgotten, see here:

At that time, Newsweek had a section called “Conventional Wisdom”.  It was an editorial feature at the front of the magazine.  There was a comment on the Juanita Broderick story that went something like:

“There is absolutely no proof that her story is true.  But, it does sound like our boy Bill.”

A joke to them.  That the man they put in office and were keeping in office  (through media manipulation, i.e. propaganda) may have beaten and raped someone.  A real “knee slapper” as we rednecks would say.

Today there is a story in the Washington Post.  The owner of Newsweek, the (Washington) Post Company has sold magazine.

“Sidney Harman paid…..$1.”  ….Post Co….to (also)..cover up to $10 million (of debt)….”

I may be they typo king of the week, but that is not a typo.  It really is $1, as in one dollar.  Not million, just plain old one.  The cover price is now $5.95.  The whole organization sold for $4.95 LESS than the cost of a single copy.

It’s about time.  And at $1, overpriced. Sidney Harman was cheated.

You have chosen to publish a staged interview with President Obama.  In doing so, you have indicated that you are not “unbiased” but rather partisan.

It is my considered opinion that President Obama is lying.  So, by extension, you also are lying.  The ash bin of history is filled with failed utopian follies such as his.  From National Socialism to Communism, government control just does not work.  Currently, these United States struggle with stagnation in a recession that has continued far longer than previous ones.  At the same time, European nations, who uniformly rejected Obama’s nostrums, are recovering.  Government run heath plans likewise have failed everywhere from Canada to Cuba.

It isn’t a matter of “good” or “bad”, “right” or “wrong”.  These plans just don’t work and repeating the failures of the past is really not very bright.

We have been subscribers off and on for some forty years.  However, you have chosen a path that indicates to us that we can not trust you or your publication.  You have chosen to make your publication  worthless to us.
