Welcome to the Precinct 201 Blog
This blog originates in Precinct 201 of Williamson County, Texas. Precinct 201 is mostly in Cedar Park with a little bit of north Austin thrown in. The blog is administered by the Republican Party Precinct Chair, Jon Jewett and was established as a location for activist Republicans to discuss candidates and issues. To be honest, I have developed a real interest in what constitutes “right” and “wrong” and why events have happened. These are sort of “cosmic questions” and I like to talk about them. I guess it goes back to my ancestors and the Reformation in England. I consider the most important concept from the Reformation is the duty of every individual to read and study the teachings of the Bible and make up your mind as to right and wrong. You and I do not need a king, a priest, or a foreign potentate to tell us what to think. That was-and is-a revolutionary concept!
I welcome comments as I would like for this to be a place to exchange ideas. Please keep your comments short and to the point, otherwise, they won’t be read. If you want to link to a story, do that but please don’t cut and paste except for short quotes. Also, be sure to separate ”what you think” from “what you know”. E.g. “I heard Mr Smith is a scoundrel” is what you think while “I saw Mr Smith kill a fly” is what you know. There are lots of rumors out there and we need to be clear on what we post: is it a rumor or a corroborated fact?
