…is often conventional stupidity. The institutions people trust to keep them informed repeat any odd trope that fits their world view. Over and over again! And that becomes the Conventional Wisdom.
You all know the Conventional Wisdom about how FDR saved the United States during the Depression. The media convinced most everyone of this “conventional wisdom”.
But…what if it wasn’t true? Research over the last couple of decades has pretty well discredited the “conventional wisdom”. Too bad the people you trust to keep you informed haven’t seen fit to keep you up to date on the latest research.
This is important, because the Democrats (and the RINOs) want to believe that the conventional wisdom is true. If it were true, then they SHOULD follow what the current regime is doing, i.e. spending billions and trillions of other people’s dollars. If not true, then they are being terribly destructive. But, what they are doing does enhance their power and campaign contributions. So they want to believe!
The link will take you to a discussion on the recent research. And the writer skips the buzz words and advanced statistical mathematics. Even simple red necks like me can understand. You have played Monopoly, haven’t you? Then you will understand this article. What FDR did to our Grandparents was worse than what he did to the Japanese. (He ordered, by an executive order, that Americans, who just happened to be of Japanese descent, all be rounded up and put in concentration camps during WWII.) At least the Japanese had roofs over their heads and food to eat. That’s more than he left millions of Americans with.

Do you remember Peter Pan? The part of the movie after Tinkerbell drinks the poison? Peter Pan says to the audience something like: If you really believe close your eyes and clap your hands, Tinkerbell will live!
Well, the Damn Fool Politicians really really want to believe that their economic fairy tale will work. So, if you clap your hands, Tinkerbell (and other fairy tales) will come true.
If you only believe in Hope and Change!
And if you don’t believe in Fairy Tales, it’s your fault that the recession is turning into a depression.
