It is the morning after the city and school board elections and the results are in.
There are some 3,188 individuals on the voter registration rolls as being in precinct 201. Of those, perhaps 20% have moved or otherwise no longer vote. (A wild guess.) That leaves some 2,549 voters. Out of that twenty-five hundred, a grand total of seventy-two (yes 72) voted in the local election. Hey folks, that’s only 1%.
In all of Cedar Park there are some 25,000 registered voters. Of that number, only some 722 voted. Not quite 3%.
So, when you go to the supermarket tomorrow, take a look at the people. IF you voted, you control their lives. You choose the people who will set their tax rates. You choose the people who run the schools their children go to. You choose the people who decide if a commercial slaughter-house is going in next door to your house. Or not.
If your friends whine about conditions here in Cedar Park, ask them if they voted. If not, tell them that you don’t want to hear it!

(PS Who voted is a public record. But not how they voted. If they say they did vote, it can be checked!)
