We have discussed the need and ways to get our message out to minorities. Most middle class African-Americans and Hispanic-Americans are quite conservative, yet they vote Democrat.
We Republicans are sort of stuck. Democrats offer the minorities “victim hood” status in telling them that all of their problems are caused by those “other white guys, the stupid f—–g red necks”. (EDIT: I wouldn’t use that kind of language. According to the former head of Bill Clinton’s Arkansas state security, that’s how HE talked about his constituency.) Thats you and me.
The Dems tell the minorities that the Dems will take money away from those mean rich people and give the money away based on the color of a person’s skin. The hyphenated Americans will get a bigger “piece of the pie”. Too bad that piece of pie turns out to be nothing but poisoned scraps from the welfare table.
All we Republicans have is an offer that they will be judged on the content of their character and their personal accomplishments. On the other hand, the Dems offer to treat them as special based on the color of their skin. But if we believe in equality, we can’t do that: all we can offer is equality.
